Description
For sale is a piece of test equipment left behind by my late father in his electronics "collection." He was an active and avid HAM radio operator for over 70 years, and a radio and other electronics serviceman for much of his life. It is amazing the equipment he had, as he was a true "hoarder," and never threw anything away! The is a JAGABI "Lubri-tact" rheostat, made by the James G. Biddle Co., Plymouth Meeting, PA. I'm not sure of its age. I found that the patent, #2000849, was given in 1935, and I found a few ads on line from the early '40's (I tried to get them in the photos, but they didn't work), which might indicate the approximate age of this piece of equipment. The tag says 73 ohms, 2.8 amps. We have not tested this item, and are selling it as is, as found, and as photographed. The whole piece, on the mounting block measures 19-1/2" long, about 4-1/2 wide, and 5" high. The stack section is about 16".
But what a cool piece of test equipment to demonstrate resistance, or just to display in your store or workshop!! Think where you would like this!! (The mounting board adds to the weight for shipping. If you would like the rheostat, but not the mounting block, let me know, and I'll re-calculate the shipping for you!!)
Thanks for looking!!
(P.S. I am listing Dad's "treasures" as we find them, and we already have 3 more rheostats, one is a Cat. 30, 1750 watts." Check my other listings.)
